CTAEYC is proud to announce the launch of the FY 2019/2020 CT Early Childhood Professional
Development (PD) Platform, a free, incentive-based, support program delivering high quality training,
courses and resources to Family Child Care (FCC) providers as well as providers of Infant and Toddler
(I/T) Care. Designed to increase the quality of Early Childhood Education and Care throughout the
State of CT., the Platform is being funded by a grant from the CT Office of Early Childhood (OEC).

 

The CT Early Childhood PD Platform includes the following core offerings:

  • ERS 101 Online Training (FCCERS-R 101 & ITERS-R 101 available in both English & Spanish)               

  • Quorum® e-Professional Development (e-PD) Courses (available in both English & Spanish)                     

  • CTAEYC Platform Academy Series (presented Bilingually)                                                                                            

  • National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC) Online Webinar Series

Platform Overview

Participants Will Need to Complete the Following Training Requirements Over the Course of Six (6) Months:

  • Complete One (1) ERS-101 Environment Rating Scale online course

    • The ERS-101 courses are an introduction to the Environment Rating Scales. Each course is self-paced, so you can start and stop as often as needed and is available in both English and Spanish. In total, each course takes about 5 hours to complete. The courses are available 24/7 and Printable Certificates and CEU credits are available.

 

  • Complete Three (3) Quorum® e-Professional Development (e-PD) Courses

    • Quorum®, provides high quality, engaging and interactive e- PD.  Platform Participants receive a one (1) year membership which includes 24/7 access to over 160 hours of online courseware.  A Quorum membership includes all of the courseware an educator needs to earn or renew a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential and Quorum courses are all approved for Continuing Education (CEUs) nationwide.  The Quorum CDA training has also been certified as meeting the Gold Standard of the Council for Professional Recognition, which issues the CDA. 

 

  • Attend a CTAEYC Platform Academy; we encourage you to also attend at least one (1) of our CTAEYC Platform Academy workshops also being offered at no charge.  These are typically three (3) hour PD tracks offered bilingually in locations throughout the state.                                                                      

  • Webinars & Resources; we encourage you to take advantage of the Platform content, including the National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC) Webinar Series

Why should I participate?

  • Free and easy to navigate Online Platform providing access to high quality PD and Content that promotes best-practice and high quality early childhood learning environments.                                              

  • Participation incentives at each step of the process, including materials from Discount School Supply and Lakeshore Learning Materials as well as a year-long membership to NAEYC.  These incentives are designed to be used by providers to support and reinforce content in their daily interactions and activities with their children.                                                                                                                       

  • Free and flexible way to take advantage of PD offerings and view resources at a participants’ own pace and at times that fit within their busy schedules.                                                                                                        

  • Free access to CEU Credits when completing the ERS 101 Online Courses, as well as Quorum® e-PD Courses, with both available in both English and Spanish.                                                                                       

  • Quorum® delivers all the courseware an educator needs to earn or renew a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.                                                                                                                                                              

  • Free access to recorded NAFCC Online Webinars, delivering a broad array of trainings focusing on practical solutions for FCC Providers to: increase knowledge and effectiveness; engage and challenge thinking; and nurture purpose, creativity, and professional excellence.                                             

  • Free access to CTAEYC Platform Academies which will feature FCC and Infant/Toddler tracks, recorded broadcasting, and additional locations to deliver high-quality in-person PD offered bilingually throughout the state.
