We are happy to announce a new professional development event:
Music: A Building Block for Self-Regulation in the Early Childhood Classroom
Presenter: Michelle K. Russell MA, MT-BC
Wednesday, December 5th
Snow Date: December 12th
5:30 pm – 8:30 pm (presentation begins at 6 pm)
This event is taking place at:
Tunxis Community College
271 Scott Swamp Rd
Farmington, CT 06032
Room 6-374 (3rd floor of the 600 building)
Cost: $5.00 for members, $10.00 for non-members
Please join us for this informative evening. A light dinner will be provided.
Participants will learn how to incorporate music and sound play activities into the early childhood classroom and support healthy self-regulation development. What makes a successful music or sound play activity? Why are good quality instruments important? How do I use music and sound play beyond “circle time”? What CTELDS guidelines am I addressing with these activities? What am I doing in my classroom that already supports self-regulation development? Participants will engage in music making and brainstorming to build upon the knowledge they have as educators.
Hope to see you there!
